Veracity of Guido Delgado’s allegation notwithstanding, I have a unique and privleged insight into those years of Nonoy’s supposed period of melancholia. (I am not even sure if Ateneo de Manila University had the professional capacity to conduct psychiatric evaluations back then).

When Noynoy was 19 years old, Ninoy Aquino was in prison and had been diagnosed with a life-threatening heart condition. In 1979/80, Noynoy and I both served in the Ateneo College Student Council. He was a Junior Year representative, and I was a Freshman Year representative.

The person who gets my vote

The country has suffered from 12 years of maladministration -- two and a half years of bumbling and plunder by Erap, and nine and a half years of immoderate greed, unconscionable extravagance, and brazen abuse of power by GMA. My choice therefore for the next president is one who will put an end to the wretchedness and shame we have endured long enough.

WITH four major polling firms indicating a constituency of 15 million voters across all geographic and demographic sectors, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III has an average “solid” 37 percent of voting share for the past four months, and enjoys an advantage that may put him on track to claiming a “historic appointment with destiny” in the May 10 presidential race.

This was the analysis of Prof. Alfredo Sureta Jr., StratPOLLS executive director, who made an up-to-date comparative research study on survey results conducted by four pollsters—Social Weather Stations Inc. (SWS) Pulse Asia, StratPOLLS and Manila Standard Today (MST) between February and April.
